The library is made up of two groups of books. One set of books have been donated by members or others. The other set is made up of books given to us by O'Reilly Publishing with the understanding that our members will use the books and write a review of each one they examine. The reviews don't have to be long and should reflect the reviewer's true feelings about the book. Click here for Book Review Guidelines and Suggestions.

Rules for Using the Library Collection

1. Library items (books, materials, etc.) from the collection may be used by any Boston West P.S. member in good standing.
2. To request a library item, send an email with the title or description of the material you would like to borrow.
3. Library items will be delivered to you at a club meeting unless you and the librarian can work out another time and place to meet.
4. If there is a waiting list for the requested item, your name will be placed at the end of the list. Books in the O'Reilly list should have reviews written for them. The reviews will be posted on our web site. It is requested that each member who borrows one of these books write a review as you are reading the book or shortly thereafter. The waiting list for these books will be two-tiered. If you promise to write a review and there is a waiting list, your name will go at the bottom of the upper tier, otherwise you go to the lower tier. The waiting list will be serviced by tier. The upper tier waiting list will be drained before any of the lower tier requests can be handled. So you might want to promise to write a review if there is a wait for the book. If you promise to write a review but fail to, you automatically go into the lower tier on future requests until you have written a review. Sorry!
5. Borrowed books and materials are your responsibility. If you lose an item while it is checked out to you, you agree to replace it at your own cost.
