BWPS Field Trip - Hopkinton State Park
Recently, several members of the Boston West Photographic Society met Master Photographer, Ed McGuirk, in the wee morning hours at Hopkinton State Park. The plan was to catch some sunrise photos over the water and then explore the park for fall foliage photography opportunities. Below is a collection of images from the shoot, plus each photographer's thoughts as he or she pressed the shutter. (Click each photo for a larger size image to enjoy.)
Joel Shore Though not exactly “aurora hopkintonis,” what struck me are the alternating bands of golden light and brooding blue and the way they are reflected in the still water. To me, the image conveys a chill that says summer is long gone. (Joel also supplied technical data: ISO 100, f/22, 0.8 sec, Canon 1D Mark III, 16-35mm f/2.8 at 27mm with polarizer)

Harrison Ball I was looking to capture the exceptional beauty of this Fall when I saw a patch of blue sky combined with the vibrant colors of the foliage on the edge of the reservoir.

Ed McGuirk Take us to Warp 7 Mr. Sulu!!

Brian Riccio Winter will be here soon and these leaves will be frozen in time.

Gary Phillips Path defined by a rows of trees, architectural elements in nature.

Jim Brady I was thinking...man, nature sure looks strange before that first cup of coffee!
A fun time was had by all, check the BWPS calendar for future club sponsored field trips and events!
