January Program - Portrait Night

Our first program of 2006 was an opportunity for some portrait photography with two lovely models, Cara and Cheryl. The evening began (for the early birds) with the techniques of studio lighting set up. Jim Brady then gave a short lesson on the do's and don'ts of portraiture from what the various lights are used for to how to interact with your model to how to get good poses.

We had two light set ups. One was a standard three light set with main light, fill light, and hair light. The other set had the same three lights but included a mirror, which allowed for some different compositions and extra creativity.

If you missed the program, don't despair. The club plans to hold additional indoor and outdoor portrait shoots over the course of the season. Meanwhile, here are a few pictures from the event.
