Nature Electronic Competition

Fall 2008

The Fall competition was held on November 12, 2008, hosted by the Springfield Photographic Society. There were 31 clubs in the competition and Boston West Photographic Society tied with Nashua Forum and Photographic Society of Rhode Island for ninth place with 94 points. First place was taken by New Haven Camera Club with 103. Gateway took Second place with 101, and Stony Brook came in Third with 99.

Congratulations to Donna Salett for earning an Honorable Mention for her 25 point image Living on Thin Ice. The 1st place images received 27 points in this competition.

Winter 2009

The Winter competition was held on February 18, 2009, hosted by the Southeast Connecticut Camera Club. 32 clubs competed in Nature and Boston West Photographic Society finished in a two-way tie for 7 th place with 72 points. Cape Cod Viewfinders finished in First with 81 points, and three clubs tied for second with 79 points each. So far for the year Boston West is in 10 th place with 166 points.

This was a very low scoring competition. The first place images only received 24 points.

Spring 2009

The Spring competition was held on April 1, 2009, hosted by the Cape Cod Viewfinders Camera Club. 30 clubs competed in Nature and Boston West Photographic Society finished in a 5th place with 101 points. New Haven Camera Club finished in First with 112 points. Gateway took Second with 104 and Cape Cod Viewfinders was Third with 103. Fourth Place went to Charter Oak Photographic Society with 102 points.

For the year Boston West finished in a two-way tie for 6th place with Quinebaug Valley Camera Club, each earning 267 points. The top three finishing clubs were New Haven with 294 points, Gateway with 284, and Cape Cod Viewfinders with 281.

Congratulations to Jeff Slovin for his Honorable Mention Snack Time, which earned 27 points, and to Harrison Ball for his 26 point HM Pelican.
