In a dramatic come from behind victory, Boston West Photographic Society earned First Place honors for the PSA International Group A Color Slide competition for 2006-2007. BWPS was two points behind both Spokane, WA and Forest Grove, IL going into the final competition, but finished in First Place for both April and for the Year. Four of our makers earned individual honors in April to help power this strong finish. Also, Mike Goodman and Frank Forward each had an image that earned Awards of Merit this year that makes them eligible to enter their slides in PSA Slide of the Year to be held in June 2007.

This victory represents a major accomplishment for our club. Over 120 camera clubs from the USA, Canada and Europe compete in PSA, and the 20 best clubs compete in Group A, the top bracket. And in only it's second year of operation, Boston West has finished at the top of this elite group. You could say Boston West has earned bragging rights as the Best Camera Club in the Nation.

Our club's makers who generously allowed us to use their slides in PSA competitions this year deserve our thanks. Without them, we would not have been able to win this prestigious award.

February 2007

In the third of four annual competitions for PSA Group A Color Slide, Boston West finished in Second Place in February. BWPS is also only 2 points behind Spokane and Forest Grove on a year to date basis, and this competition will go down to the wire in the final competition in April 2007. Boston West did not earn any individual honors this month, but we had a very solid, well balanced entry and still finished in second place.

December 2006

In the second competition of the year BWPS finished in Second out of 20 clubs in Class A, and is in Second Place in the Cumulative standings as well. Class A is the highest of 5 classes in this PSA International Color Slide Competition. Currently Boston West is tied for second place with Greater Lynn, after two out of four competitions this year.

October 2006

Boston West finished in Fifth Place in the October 2006 PSA Class A Color Slide Interclub Competition. Mike Goodman earned an Honroable Mention for having an image that placed in the top 15% of all images entered.
