Spring 2007
The final interclub competition of the season was held March 5th at the Huntington Photographic Society in Connecticut. Boston West went into this competition with a commanding lead, which pretty much guaranteed taking First Place for the year.
Unfortunately, due to an clerical error we missed the entry deadline. The competition was held earlier in the season than normal and five clubs failed to enter the spring competition.
The results of the competition were: 1st: New Haven CC with 97 points, 2nd: Cape Cod Viewfinders 95, and 3rd: Charter Oak Photographic Society with 94. For the year, Charter Oak took First Place with 289 points, followed closely by Greater Lynn Photographic Association with 288. Cape Cod Viewfinders was third with 286.

Winter 2007
The second New England Camera Club Council Nature Interclub competition
of the season was held January 22, 2007 at the Quabbin Visitor Center in
Belchertown, MA. The judges were George Nieske, FPSA, MNEC, Robert Bousquet,
MNEC, and Charles Burke. Boston West Photographic Society again finished in 1st place out of 17 clubs that competed in Class A. Our 103
points was followed very closely by Charter Oak Photographic Society's 102
points and Greater Lynn's 101 points.
With one competition remaining BWPS has a commanding 10 point lead over 2nd
place Greater Lynn. There was one slide that scored 29 points and won 1st place.
It was titled "Fishing" by Bill Marchand of Quinebaug Valley PC. Four slides
earned 28 points and tied for 2nd place, our own Frank Forward among them.
Ed McGuirk was the lone 27 point score and he tied for HM with six 26 point
slides. Congratulations Frank and Ed!

Fall 2006
The first of three New England Camera Club Council Nature Interclub competitions of the season was held November 21st at the Canton (CT) Camera Club and judged by Jim Dione MNEC, Lynn Hunter, and Audrey Weigold APSA HonNEC. With 103 points Boston West PS finished in 1st place out of 19 clubs in Class A. Stony Brook CC was close behind with 102 points, and 3rd place was taken was Simsbury CC with 99 points.
Nature Interclub rules state that the judges will break any tie for first place and BWPS had two of the five top scoring slides. Debbie Guyer and Frank Forward each earned 27 points, and Frank's Snarling Wolf was awarded 1st place and was published on the front page of the Winter NECCC Bulletin. Debbie and the other three 27 point photographers then tied for Second Place.
The Interclub Chairwoman also noted, in a trend that we have all seen over the last few years, that there were 19 clubs competing in Class A and 12 in Class B. This amounts to a 25% decline from the previous year and is probably a reflection of so many photographers switching to digital and some clubs no longer offering slide competitions.
Here are the top finishing clubs and our club's entries.
