Spring 2006
The third and final NECCC Pictorial Interclub of the season was judged Wednesday March 1st at the Greater Bridgeport Camera Club. Boston West had a fairly solid showing, but unfortunately it was not good enough to place in the top three clubs. However we were only three points out of First Place.
The good news is that our previously built up lead in the standings means that we did finish in First Place for the season! Congratulations BWPS! This was a great way to introduce our new club to the neighbors!
Let's all get some great shots over the summer so we can field another set of winning entries next year. Additionally NECCC will be running a digital competition next season, so we'll be needing even more material.

In this competition there was one first place slide, earning 26 points, and there were eight slides which each got 25 points, tying for second place.
Many thanks again to the makers who graciously allowed BWPS to use their slides in the interclubs this year. Thanks to you we were able to get the club off to a great start our first year!
Winter 2006
The congratulations continue! In the second of three NECCC Pictorial interclub competitions Boston West Photographic Society won first place again! This is 2 for 2 now, and we have a commanding lead over the field at this point. It's great to be a part of such an awesome club. Thank you to all who allow your slides to be considered for entry into the interclubs. Without you, we couldn't accomplish any of these fine showings.
The second NECCC Pictorial Interclub of the season was judged Monday January 2nd at the Greater Lynn Photographic Association. There were only 13 entries in Class AA, possibly due to the timing around the holidays and the fact that this was an earlier competition date than is typical for the winter round. The missed entires will presumably be made up in the spring competition.
Four slides tied for First Place in Class AA, each earning 28 points. Scott Oglevee's Mono Alpenglow was among those. There were also three Honorable Mentions, two of which were earned by BWPS members. Jim Brady's Eyes of Mystery and Mike Goodman's Blast Off each earned 27 points. Ed McGuirk was close behind with 26 points for his San Juan Sunrise #2. With those scores, Boston West PS finished in First Place with 108 points. New Haven CC took 2nd Place with 104 points, and there was a three-way tie for 3rd Place with 98 points. The 3rd Place clubs were Greater Lynn Photographic Association, Cape Cod Viewfinders CC, and Stony Brook CC.
With one round left in the season, Boston West PS is in 1st place with 204 points. Greater Lynn is in 2nd with 190, and Cape Cod Viewfinders has 3d place with 184.

Fall 2005
Congratulations, BWPS! In our club's first entry into NECCC Pictorial interclub competition we walked away with first place! When the slides came back with the preliminary scores, I was a bit concerned by the points we had earned. Ed and I thought we had put together a very strong entry, but all we managed to get was 24 points for each of the four slides we entered. Many competitions have scores higher than this, such as 1st place scoring in the 27-30 range and a fair number of slides between there and 24. Imagine my surprise when the official scores and club results arrived. It seemed the envelope was rather thick. That was because there were five ribbons in it. Hey, wait a minute. We only entered four slides! Oh, my goodness. The fifth ribbon, the blue one, was for the club! Wow!
We can all be very proud of the talent in our club and what we can accomplish together. Let's keep it up and see if we can earn the medal for the year! Here are the details on the competition...
The first NECCC Pictorial Interclub of the season was judged November 14th at the New Haven Camera Club. There were 18 entries in Class AA, 6 entries in Class A, and 19 in Class B.
There was one slide in Class AA that earned 25 points and a first place. Seven slides earned 24 and tied for 2nd. Four of the seven were ours. Each of the other 24 point slides were from different clubs. With those scores, Boston West PS finished in First Place with 96 points. Greater Lynn Photographic Association finished 2nd with 92 points and Nashoba Valley CC took 3rd with 88 points.
