Spring 2006
The final NECCC Nature Interclub competition of the season was judged March 16th at the Quinebaug Valley Photography Club. Boston West was in Third Place going into this competition, 8 points behind the leader, but guess what? As luck (and the skill of our members) would have it, we made up the lost ground and finished in First Place! We share this honor with New Haven Camera Club, which was in Second Place going into this final round. We picked up the two points on them that we needed to catch them.
Congratulations Boston West Photographic Society and thank you everyone who was willing to share their slides with the club to allow us to represent ourselves in these New England-wide competitions!
Here are the club's entries and the final standings:

Congratulations to Debbie Guyer and Frank Forward on their 2nd place slides! These were the only 2nd place slides in the competition. There was one first place slide, which earned 27 points for Stony Brook, and there were four HM slides, which each earned 25 points.
Winter 2006
The second of three NECCC Nature Interclub competitions of the season was judged January 17th at the Gateway Camera Club. There were 18 entries in Class A and 8 in Class B. Boston West PS had a great showing with four strong slides but was bested by Greater Lynn Photographic Association. Greater Lynn earned 107 points to Boston West's 103 points. Third place went to New Haven CC with 101 points.
This leaves us in third place for the season so far. It'll be tough to catch Greater Lynn, but it's not out of the question. And we're only two points behind New Haven, so let's see if we can put an entry together for the spring competition that will gain us 3 or more points on them so we can at least finish in Second Place.
Here are how things stand and also the club's winter entry:

Fall 2005
The first NECCC Nature Interclub of the season was judged October 10th at the Greater Lynn Photographic Association. There were 18 entries in Class A and 14 in Class B.
Boston West PS is off to a great start this year. We are competing in the top class (Class A) and came in 4th place (out of 18 clubs). There was a 3-way tie for first. Charter Oak PS, Greater Lynn PA, and New Haven CC each earned 95 points. BWPS had 91 points, and 5th place Nashoba Valley CC had 90 points.
Hopefully we'll be able to make up some lost ground in the remaining two competitions of the season and finish in the top three. That would be a really great way to end our first season of regional competition!

Congratulations to Ed McGuirk on his 3rd place slide! Ed shared the third place with four other slides. There were two slides that tied for first with 27 points each.
Many thanks to the makers who graciously allowed BWPSt to use their slides in this interclub. We really appreciate everyone's efforts to help establish our new club as a dominant force in interclub competitions.
